 |
|
The European Recycling Platform (ERP) was created in 2002
as the first ever pan-European take back scheme to effectively
implement the European Union's Waste Electronic and Electrical
Equipment (WEEE) Directive.
The mission of ERP is to ensure cost-effective implementation
of the WEEE Directive, for the benefit of member companies,
their customers, the consumers and ultimately for the environment
and society.
|
| |
ERP develops and operates a common waste
management procurement platform designed:
| • |
|
to
meet the specific requirements of electrical and
electronic producers |
| |
|
|
| • |
|
to
promote cost-efficient and innovative recycling
strategies, while actively embracing the concept
of individual producer responsibility as set out
in the EU Directive. |
| |
|
|
| • |
|
to
open up opportunities for pan-European recycling
services and cross-border competition in the waste
management service market. |
